Usrah session 2: Reason and Source of Ibadah:

 Hyeee

So in the second usrah session, Ainul, our appointed naqibah shared with us about the 5 pillars of Islam. And she did elaborate them in detail. Here are my kew takeaways from the session.

The second pillar of Islam is salah. Allah mentioned in Surah Al-Ankabut:

What is Salah and Why we should perform salah?

Salah is second pillar of Islam and it is obligated to those wo already fulfilled the conditions to pray ie muslim, baligh, concious. Answering we should Salah, we can refer to the picture above. it depicts that salah prohibit us from wrongdoings. Ustazah Nurul Subhiyah once told us, even though a pair of robbers are trying to rob someone's house, and they're climbing the gate, it's obligated to them to tell one another that what they're actually doing is wrong. It shows that making mistake is normal but we need to quickly gain our conciousness not to do the mistake. Hence, we need to pray. Doesn't mateter we're good or not, kind or evil, just perform the solah and you'll live happily here and Herafter.

Third pillar of Islam is Sawm. It is undoubtedly already that Sawm has great impact on us as it can help us understand each other much better. I''ve read something like; in order for you to get rid of your bad habit, you need to follow your iman and not your nafsu. As we can see, eating is actually part of our nafs right? Like, between eating and not outing, we'd go four 'eating' option. That's what i mean by nafs. Your nafsu and body prefer it that way. but, due to sawm, you're actually teaching and tame your nafsu to follow your iman! That's one of the reason why if Rasulullah told us if we cannot marry, we should fast. In order to tame our nafs and not attached to it. Hence, we need to fast often and practise sunnah fastins so we can tame our nafs and not fall to it.

Forth pillar of Islam is zakat. Zakat is a mandatory charitable contribution, often considered to be a tax.[8][9] The payment and disputes on zakat have played a major role in the history of Islam, notably during the Ridda wars. I often awe-struck with muslims. Why? Because whenever other people are chasing for money to grow thir wealth for their vey own purpose, we can collect money and share it with people around us. Like, isn't that amazing? To give and share your won wealth with others. Masha-Allah. That's beautiful part of Islam.  Teaching us not to fall in love with the dunia as dunia itself is a lie.

Next, the last one is pilgrimage. I've never been there yet. And i believe each of us has the niat to go there. right? But that's okay. During the session, we discussed some of the benefits of pilgrimage.

First, pilgrimage can help us build our characters. This is because, to accomplish the hajj, we need to encounter several challenges ( depend on the individual). So, we can build our character from there.

Secondly, hajj act as a soul purifier where we will go to mecca and try to become a better person. If our hajj is mabrur, it is indicated by our character after coming home from mecca. If we keep doing good and intact the righteous deed, our hajj can be considered as mabrur, insha Allah.

Last but not least, hajj remind us of humility. When we perform hajj, our cloth are literally the same. This shows that, in front of Allah, we are all the same. The only thing that differ us from each other in the eye of Allay is taqwa. So, why do we need to be arrogant, since we have God to be pleased?

Those are my key takeways from the usrah and I hope all of us can benefited something from this writing. Especially me.
